Anthropic is reportedly shipping Claude Fable 5 today: the first general-purpose model in the Claude 5 line, and the public version of Mythos, the vulnerability-finding model it refused to sell. @AndrewCurran_ reported the public Mythos would arrive as Claude Fable. Tech journalist Alex Heath put the release at June 9 and said it carries substantial guardrails and less cyber-permissive access than Project Glasswing partners get. Crypto outlet KuCoin reported prediction-market odds of a Claude 5 model before June 30 at 94.4%. One catch worth stating plainly: as of this morning Anthropic has announced nothing, and its newsroom still tops out at Opus 4.8 from May 28.

The tell worth noting is which engine this is. Mythos was the model Anthropic judged too good at finding security holes to put on the open market.
